Dear Mitra community,
turpentine left some residue after its evaporation in oil film, so i want to understand from conservation point of view, does this residue negatively affect oil paint strength or it has any benefit in aid film strenth?
if it negatively affect oil film strength, then should modern mineral spirit that evaporate 100% without leaving any residue be considered better option than turpentine?
i heard different opnion as some says the gummy residue from turpentine is good while mineral spirit cuts the oil chain short that reduce its strength.
