Because the solvent (xylene) in my B-72 is noxious, I’ve been applying isolating layers in a unheated room above my studio – it’s not freezing, but can get into the 40 degree F. range at times.  Anyone know the ambient temperature range at which one can safely apply B-72?
Thanks,

I do not have specific information on applying Paraloid B-72 (also known as Acraloid B-72) in xylene at that temperature. However, the Glass Transition temperature (Tg) of Paraloid B-72 is approximately 40ºC (104°F). How this makes a difference during application at much lower temperatures than normal room temperature is unclear. One thing for certain, drying time and solvent dwell time will be extended. Another issue to consder is the possibility of water entrapment due to the cold temperature.
